I'm gonna have to have a yard sale before we move.

We have surplus furniture we don't want to take with us, excess crap spouse acquired for eBay that isn't worth the trouble of listing, not to mention assorted odds and ends that I have no memory of acquiring in the first place and don't want now.

Somehow I must locate my inner organizer and get this stuff pulled together. We're aiming for the sale to be March 30. We move on April 7th.

Any volunteers to assist with either?

(I can pay any helpers with pizza and firewood. How's that for incentive?)

Do you have freecycle in your area ?

Freecycle is a group that connect people thorughthe internet so that tose who have things they don't want can give them to those who want/need them. A neat recycling option that saves the hassle of a day spent yard saling things of which you just really want to see the end.

Many freecycle groups operate through yahoo group list servs.

But if you decide to go through with a yard sale..best of luck. if I were closer I'd come to help, I like pizza but the plane ticket might eat into your profits a bit more than you'd want.

We do. And we're members. But almost every time we've offered something, the person who says he wants it doesn't show up. I mean, we've even left stuff on the front porch, and the intended recipient never bothered to come pick it up. At this point, I'd rather have the yard sale and donate any leftovers to Goodwill.
