avanta7: (Crabby)

As much as I love ice cream, and pudding, and yogurt, and smoothies, my mouth is craving something it can crunch. Like nuts, or carrots, or crackers.

However, if I tried to eat some satisfyingly crunchy something, all the pain medication in the world wouldn't save me from the excruciating torture that would ensue. I'm at least a week away from feasting on anything more substantial than Yoplait.

*sigh*

*gentle hugs*

C gets his wisdom teeth out tomorrow, so we'll be offering a similar menu here for a while. :-/

The day my husband's friend had all 4 of her wisdom teeth out, she went out to tacos for dinner.

I took a few days and would have recovered faster, but we found out the hard way I'm allergic to Vicodin. THAT was fun. (not so much)

I had my wisdom teeth out so long ago, I don't remember what I ate...probably nothing, because what I do remember is taking Darvocet (?) and being propped up by my roommate on the sofa with iced tea near at hand and the TV remote in my grip.

C has my sympathy.

Slurp your yogurt and say "crunch crunch crunch"? No?

Don't forget pureed soups. Always a happy option. I have a great "cream of something" recipe.

Unfortunately, saying "crunch crunch crunch" just doesn't have the same...resonance. *pout*

Pasta with a smooth sauce (don't get one with meat bits in it) might work. I used to swallow the pasta shells whole when I had a sore mouth.

I second the idea of a pasta substitute.

Okey-dokey, shells & sauce, here we come.

Thanks for the idea. Not sure if it will satisfy the urge to chew, but we can give it a shot.

Good luck! You might be able to gum these a bit without hurting yourself. Oh, and not anything noodle-like, of course--you'll need shells of fusilli or something separate.

Sympathy. I remember a few days after I had my wisdom teeth out, I saw a little girl on the street eating an apple, and I felt an urge to knock her over and take it from her.

How much longer until you can chew a little?

I understand that urge completely.

Monday, I think, will be a good day to try some stewed chicken, perhaps.

Ooh.

Hope things are improving today. I remember when I had my wisdom teeth removed, the first solid food I wanted was a rather strange item: a biscuit from Popeye's Chicken. Yeah, made no sense whatsoever.

I'm not sure a biscuit qualifies as solid food. But that's okay. I like your weirdness.
