I can't tell. I'm still too upset by work crap to notice any change in energy level. Soon, I hope.

Woot!

Well done!

What are the salient features of the SB diet?

Thank you, ma'am. *beam*

Salient features....The first two weeks, Phase 1, are fairly restrictive: no bread, no fruit, no starches; lots of protein and vegetables and good fats such as olive oil. This regimen is designed to break the habit of eating processed foods such as white flour and sugar. This more restrictive period can be extended an additional week or so if the dieter still craves those items.

In Phase 2, the dieter starts adding back items like whole grains and whole fruits, emphasis on whole. This is the long-term weight loss phase where the dieter stays until achieving goal weight.

Phase 3, maintenance. Eat normally, but restrict consumption of highly processed foods.

It's a lot easier than I thought, even the restrictive phase. I seldom feel really hungry, I drink lots of water to help stave off hunger pangs, and if I am genuinely hungry between meals, I can have a healthy snack like a handful of nuts or a stalk of celery with cheese. In fact, the diet menu plans include recommended snacks.

Very cool. I'm encouraged to stick with it.

Hm. I'm encouraged to try it.

Sounds a lot like how I eat normally, but I'm off track recently. I think I'll include a visit to a bookstore this afternoon.

Oh! And the best part?

I don't have to count anything: not carbs, not calories, not fat grams, not food exchanges, nothing. Just eat the foods on the lists for each phase and watch my portion size. Easy.
