As is our custom, the girls all gathered on the first weekend of December for the annual retreat, when we leave our families behind and rediscover the bonds we forged so many years ago in school. Some of us have been friends since we were 11, all of us have been friends since we were 15. We laugh together, cry together, share joys and sorrows, triumphs and tribulations, and always always always go for a hike alongside the ocean. Here are a few of the photos:

The view from the house where we stayed. This particular house is up for sale for the "reduced" price of $1.2 million. The view alone is worth the price.

Before we set off on our hike. Bottom row, left to right: Nancy, yours truly, Jennifer, Susan, Michele. Top row, left to right: Lara, Katie, Robin. Don't we all have such typical early 1960s names?

Somewhere along the Point Buchon Trail. The way the water has carved out these rock formations over the eons fascinated me.

The sunset on Saturday night.
You can see the whole set here.
