As of 5:00 P.M. PST today....

....I am on VACATION!

Just a short one. I go back to work Tuesday. But I have six glorious days in a row where I don't have to go to the office, I don't have to think about work or quotas or deadlines or reports. I can sleep as late as I wish and stay up if I want. I might actually finish that bedamned epic science fiction novel I've been reading for the last month (curse you, Kim Stanley Robinson)! And maybe read something a little lighter as well. Awww, bliss....

We have yet more in common. Both of us will return to work on the same day! So cool.

Something lighter to read. Hmmm ... isn't Kim Stanley's husband Spider? Perhaps some Callahan's bar stories are just what you need. Have you read Lady Slings the Booze?

It says something about how personal tastes in writing style can be - I have never been able to finish any of KS Robinson's novels. I've always had to skip great chunks of them if I want to get to the end at all. And I know that they're all highly regarded and very popular. *I* just don't like them.
