Mystery mail

Somehow I seem to have acquired subscriptions to the magazines Bon Appetit and House And Garden. When they arrived in the mail last month, I figured the publishers had gotten my name off some mailing list and sent me teaser copies. That happens a lot. I'm in a desirable demographic for a lot of "upscale" products. (Little do they know....) But the magazines came again this month. I examined the plastic bag they came in. The label has a subscription number and an expiration date of August 2007.

I have absolutely no recollection of ordering or paying for these magazines. Spouse says he didn't either. And I don't remember getting a little card saying someone had given me a gift subscription.
